Dr. NITIN MOHAN MD, MPH

(he/him)

Partner

Expertise: Clinical Medicine, Health Research, Surveillance, Policy Analysis

Dr. Nitin Mohan is a Partner and Physician Epidemiologist here at ETIO. He is also an assistant professor that teaches courses in the Master of Management and Applied Sciences and Master of Public Health programs. He obtained his Medical Doctorate in 2015 and his Master of Public Health in 2017. He formerly worked for the Government of Canada, at the Public Health Agency of Canada where he was a physician epidemiologist with the Centre for Food-Borne, Enteric, and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (CFEZID) as well as the Surveillance Coordination Unit under the Infectious Disease Prevention Control Branch (IDPCB). 

He specializes in infectious disease surveillance and preventive medicine. He has experience coordinating national surveillance activities ensuring accurate data collection across multiple sectors.

 

He’s been fortunate to work with private and public sectors and Non-Governmental Organizations on various projects ranging from knowledge translation, data management, research design and clinical guideline development, software development and program development. His experiences have allowed him to work in dynamic health systems, through clinical practice, research implementation and surveillance design. He is routinely featured on various media outlets as a key contributor during the COVID19 pandemic.

 

His interests include preventive medicine, global health, public health, health equity, health economics and population health.

MARK GERA H.BA, MPH

(he/him)

Partner

Expertise: Health Geography, GIS, Health Information,  Health Economics, Research and Evaluation

Mark is a Partner and heads the data division here at ETIO. He has substantial experience as a health analyst and a health geographer with specialization in spatial analysis and health analytics including health economics. He obtained his Master of Public Health in 2017 and had his case featured in the Western University Public Health Casebook.

 

He has gained public health expertise through his work with community research projects and has leveraged his stakeholder relationships when coordinating multiple diverse collaborations on multidisciplinary projects. His years of experience have allowed him to work on large projects where he has utilized his spatial analysis and health economic skills to develop, inform and evaluate targeted programs, specifically with regards to health interventions.

 

Recently Mark has led and developed regional databases and data storage protocols for various public and private entities ensuring efficient, secure and integrated methods. As he is LEAN certified, Mark has helped reposition entities to optimize their data capabilities. Mark is passionate about oral health, health equity, health informatics and spatial analysis.

IAN HANNEY BHSc, MPH

Expertise: Policy Analysis, Community Health, Program Management, Knowledge Translation, Research and Evaluation

Ian is a Partner at ETIO with a passion for poverty reduction and community health. He draws from years of both local and international experience in programming, policy analysis, and research.

 

Ian has leveraged his political savvy and experience in community mobilization to lead public health initiatives in poverty reduction, housing and homelessness, problem gambling, and mental health. Working for various levels of government, Ian has driven community-level change across several social service areas.


Ian's holds extensive experience in literature reviews, environmental scans, needs assessments, economic evaluations and risk & impact assessments. He specializes in research and evaluation, with a passion for utilizing data plans and a business lens to solve unique problems in both the private and public sectors.

Cara Boyd H.BMSc, MMASc

Expertise: Knowledge Translation, Health Promotion, Data Analytics, Policy Analysis

​

Cara is the Communication Lead and Health Promoter at ETIO who is passionate about applying an intersectional perspective to the development of sustainable, up-stream solutions to public and global health challenges. Cara is currently completing a Master’s of Management of Applied Science, specializing in Global Health Systems in Africa at Western University. She also received a Bachelor of Medical Sciences with an Honours Specialization in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences from Western University. Cara has extensive experience in health promotion, knowledge translation, and systems analyses. She has applied her creativity to the production of data visualizations, through extensive data cleaning and data analytics processes. Cara enjoys critically examining the current global health landscape and identifying the intersections involved in perpetuating health inequities. She is particularly interested in environmental racism’s impacts on the physical, emotional, and mental health of BIPOC communities, LGBTQ2S+ communities, and persons with disabilities.
